Join us for a community walk/run from Lennox Head Community Center to Shelly Beach Ballina to raise funds for brain cancer research.
The course is approximately 20km return, and the Walk/Run is a very popular coastal track for locals and visitors alike.
You will start at the Lennox Head Community Center and proceed to the designated path up to Pat Morton lookout along the coastal headlands past Boulders Beach then onto Sharpes Beach and Angels Beach continuing along to Shelly Beach where you then turn around and take the same route in return to Lennox Head where the Lions will be running a BBQ.
Water stations will be provided along the route and walkers should bring their own refillable containers.
There will be a 20 seat bus for the morning so if you would like to get a lift back to Lennox Head instead of walking back, you can do so. The bus has been donated with free hire from the Ballina Bears Cricket Club. This is their team bus to take to away games and for any reprensentative duties within the cricket community of Ballina. The Lions Club have already appointed one of their crew to drive the bus which is very kind.
David Greiner, facilitator of Walk4BrainCancer Lennox Head to Ballina, lost his adored wife Christine to Brain Cancer in 2015. Each year he and the Lennox Head Lions Club run this event to raise funds and awareness of brain cancer research.
