Join us for the second annual Huskisson Walk 4 Brain Cancer on 14 October 2017. The walk will start at Moona Moona Creek Reserve and continue on to the beach reserve near Holden Street (Collingwood Beach).
for this walk is Lachlan Thoroughgood, who was just 6 years old when he was
diagnosed with Gliobastoma Multiforme which is an aggressive and currently incurable
brain cancer. Survival rates for brain cancer have not improved in the last 30
years with current treatments being limited, unsuccessful and offering a mean
survival rate of 14 months. We hope that together we can raise awareness and
funds in order to change these statistics and give hope and better prognosis to
people living with brain cancer.
"Lachlan was surrounded by many people
near and far who loved him and filled his days with fun and adventure. Although
it saddens us every moment of every day that he is no longer here with us we
take comfort in the fact that his legacy will live on in every step we
take." Leanne, Lachlan's mother.
